Rob Munier was named the newest vice president for Marine Operations and Facilities at WHOI on March 1. He has spent more than 500 days at sea during a 30-year career in ocean engineering, most recently developing global solutions as managing director for the undersea technology firm Tyco Telecommunications. Munier has responsiblity for WHOI deep-submergence vehicles, ocean observing systems, and ships, including Oceanus in the background, as well as the personnel who operate them.
