Image of The Day caption:
Ben Tradd, a pilot with the Jason operations group, takes in the sunset aboard the R/V Atlantis following days of heavy rain, high winds and rough seas in October 2011. During the seven-day transit from San Diego to the dive site on the East Pacific Rise--a mid-ocean ridge spreading center in the eastern Pacific Ocean--the ship had to change tracks and skirt around Hurricane Jova.
