Image Of the Day caption:
Physical oceanographer Amy Bower, with her six-year-old guide dog, Abbie, introduced two speakers to students from the Perkins School for the Blind during their visit to the WHOI Exhibit Center earlier in 2014. Students learned about ocean acidification and, on a subsequent visit, about Bower's current research on ocean circulation in the subpolar North Atlantic. Until August 1, Bower is at sea deploying moorings and floats used for tracking currents during the four-year project, and is writing about the experience on her WHOI blog OceanInsight: Musings of a Blind Oceanographer.
