Image Of the Day caption:
Ari Daniel earned a Ph.D.in biology, studying orcas in the MIT-WHOI Joint Program. But he has made a career as journalist, telling multimedia stories about science for outlets such Public Radio International's The World and PBS Nova. Here he is on assignment in Sermilik Fjord in Greenland, where WHOI physical oceanographer Fiamma Straneo and other scientists are studying how changing ocean conditions may be accelerating the flow of glacial ice into the ocean. Listen to his story here. Or this one on WHOI scientist Anne Cohen's research on corals in Palau that seem to be more resistant to the higher-acidic seawater expected in the near future.
