Caption from Oceanus magazine, Vol. 46, No. 2, Pg. 35:
A lobster shows the ravages of epizootic shell disease. It often leads to deep holes in their outer shells, which leave lobsters susceptible to bacteria or viruses and interferes with their ability to molt their shells and grow. In extreme cases, the entire shells rot, killing the lobsters.
