The Ocean Research Experience Program is for liberal arts undergraduate students. This fish dissection class is being taught by MIT/WHOI Joint Program students Maya Yamato, Kim Popendorf, and Whitney Bernstein. Vicke Starzcak is the ORE fellowship coordinator.

Skidmore College senior and Ocean Research Experience (ORE) Fellow Jay Brett (center) dissects a fish with the help of WHOI marine biologist Vicke Starzcak (left) and MIT/WHOI graduate student Maya Yamato. The ORE program is designed to give undergraduate students, primarily science majors from liberal arts colleges, exposure to scientific research during their winter semester break and is funded by The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations. It is just one of a range of education programs for offered throughout the year by WHOI.
