MIT-WHOI Joint Program graduate and WHOI postdoctoral fellow Tyler Rohr snapped this shot on a trip to Antarctica and the Palmer Long Term Ecological Research site, one of several dozen sites funded by the National Science Foundation to support research in diverse ecosystems worldwide. As members of the Joint Program, one of the most prestigious graduate programs in ocean science and engineering, WHOI students are no strangers to far-flung, high-profile places like this in their pursuit of new knowledge about the ocean.
