Over the course of her career, Mitzi Crane has taken an incredible journey to distant lands, dangerous places, and the deep ocean floor. As the first and only woman to serve as Master of R/V Atlantisor any WHOI shipMitzi's perspective working her way from deck to bridge has given her a unique view of oceanographic research and the people who study the ocean. On Thursday, June 7, in an event sponsored by the WHOI Women's Committee, Mitzi will reflect on her 30 years at sea. All are welcome to the social with light fare and drinks beginning at 4:00 p.m. and lecture from 5 to 6:00 p.m. in Clark 507; $5 suggested donation at the door.
