MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOR MAURA HEALEY VISITS WHOI
Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey visited WHOI in March to learn more about the Institution’s global ocean science research and highlight her administration’s investments in the local blue economy. “Today, we’re having the benefit of hearing from the brilliant minds that explore our oceans. We know you all are part of leading the way,” Gov. Healey told a crowd of about 100 people gathered outside the Iselin high bay. With Massachusetts officials Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, State Representative Dylan Fernandes, State Senator Susan Moran, State Senator Julian Cyr, Secretary of Energy & Environmental Affairs Rebecca Tepper, and State Representative David Vieira, the governor noted WHOI’s leadership in climate resiliency projects, including sea-level rise mitigation and adaptation on Woods Hole’s waterfront.
