OOIs goal is to provide freely available, near-real-time measurements of the oceans physical, chemical, and biological conditions to researchersand to the publicworldwide, measurements that support greater understanding of Earths vast life-support system. Moorings such as these are deployed in regions of key scientific interest around the globe. They carry finely tuned instruments that collect measurements upon which sound policy decisions can be made. And engineers such as Jennifer are essential to the success of this massive ocean observation project.
