Andrew Daly hired Ryan Robinson to shoot the rafting adventure. 2011 Next Wave caption: The Geodynamics Program is an integrated program that fosters interdisciplinary research in the earth sciences among faculty, students and postdoctoral fellows. It is centered around an annual spring semester seminar series and an annual study tour to visit critical geological locations related to the Program's theme that year. In 2011, the study tour was to the Fraser River watershed area in British Columbia, Canada. Members of the 2011 Geodynamics Field Trip included WHOI students, faculty and staff: Andrea Dubin, Michael Ryan Toomey, Britta Voss, Rene Boiteau, Katherine French, Helen Feng, Alejandra Ortiz, Bernhard Peucker-Ehrenbrink, Rocky Geyer, Mary Lardie, Indra Sen, Robert Sohn, and Andrew Daly. In 2011, participants traveled to the Fraser River watershed in British Columbia, Canada. In addition to rafting a portion of a mountainous tributary, participants evaluated how ecological changes in the watershed from the headwaters to the delta may threaten the Fraser River basin as a suitable spawning habitat for salmon.
