Image of The Day caption:
Gusty winds and rain did not dampen the enthusiasm of visitors waiting to tour the R/V Knorr at the WHOI dock on August 7, 2011. More than 750 people came to the event, which included talks and a tour of the ship used to discover RMS Titanic and hydrothermal vents. The Knorr is currently at work in the North Atlantic, where researchers are on the hunt for the origins of a mysterious new current. Follow along online with daily updates, photos and videos from the ship on the blog, To the Denmark Strait.
