Caption from 2020 Wall Calendar, April:
In 2018, researchers from WHOI and their collaborators from Haverford College collected oil samples from the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill deposited on the shores of McClure Bay in Prince William Sound, Alaska. During this field work, they also searched for oil spilled from ruptured tanks during the 1964 Alaskan earthquake. Oil samples were collected and analyzed to confirm source and chemical composition.
