STANDING TALL—Dense colonies of tubeworms (Lamellibrachia luymesi) aggregate around a cold seep site in the Gulf of Mexico. They form the seafloor equivalent of hedges that provide habitat for many other invertebrates, such as mussels, crabs, shrimp, and snails.
