Cyndy Chandler (center) and Tobias Work (right) talk with Alexander Smirnov (Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, Roshydromet, Russian Federation) during a poster session at the International Conference on Marine Data and Information Systems (IMDIS 2010) held at the Paris natural history museum. With backing in part through the UN's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), the conference provides a forum for discussing how existing information systems can serve different users in ocean science. The poster highlighted some of the work being done at WHOI in the field of informatics, especially at the Biological and Chemical Oceanography Data Management Office (BCO-DMO) and the Rolling Deck to Repository (R2R) project.
