Elizabeth Adams (center), a U.S. Coast Guard Marine Science Technician, assists WHOI engineer John Kemp (blue hard hat) and others in making a mooring recovery during an October 2011 Chukchi-Beaufort Sea cruise aboard USCGC Healy. WHOI engineer Jim Ryder holds a tag line while U.S. Coast Guard Marine Science Technician Horace Brittle (white hard hat) positions himself on the fantail. The mooring was part of a project funded by the National Science Foundation exploring the ocean-atmosphere-ice system in the western Arctic.
