Image Of the Day caption:
This year, after a visit with WHOI scientists, Falmouth High School senior Tyler Ragonese crafted a ceramic sea star that he attached to a bowl. This spring the finished product, and those of his classmates, were displayed at WHOI. "The benefits of our WHOI visit were enormous," said art teacher Corine Adams, who won a grant for students to visit WHOI. "The students received fantastic visual lectures, which inspired them and exposed them to creatures they did not know existed." Adams said she is planning another visit next year, with the focus of the students' projects on the challenges of ocean pollution and marine debris.
