2014 Summer Student Fellows hands-on, one-day, ocean sampling cruise out into Buzzards Bay onboard the R/V Tioga. This cruise focuses on data collection and sampling methods with advanced oceanographic technology and instruments.

Lily Helfrich, a student at Northwestern University and a native of Falmouth, Mass., came back to Woods Hole for the 2014 WHOI Summer Student Fellowship program. On the annual student trip aboard WHOI's coastal research vessel R/V Tioga, Lily helped maneuver a CTD rosette sampler into place for deployment. Lily's summer research on a fish species' genetic adaptations to pollution, working with biologist Neel Aluru, was highlighted in WHOI's Oceanus magazine.
