Melissa Moulton, Physical Oceanography.
Melissa Moulton grew up spending summers boogie-boarding and building drip castles on the barrier beaches of Chatham with her sister and cousins. She first came to WHOI as an undergraduate Summer Student Fellow in 2008. After earning a bachelors degree in physics at Amherst College, Moulton entered the MIT-WHOI Joint Program in Oceanography in 2010 to study surf zone processes with her Ph.D. advisor Steve Elgar. When not in the field or in Bigelow laboratory, she can be found playing squash, scuba diving, grilling with neighbors, or playing games with family on the beach in Chatham.
