Image Of the Day caption:
WHOI Associate Scientist Elizabeth Kujawinski (right) and research specialist Melissa Kido Soule acquaint themselves with a new mass spectrometer in Kujawinski's lab. The two have used similar technology in the past to study microbes in the ocean. Purchased with a grant from the Simons Foundation, this new ultra-high resolution mass spectrometer is an advanced tool that will further understanding of microbial communities that influence important processes such as the movement of carbon and nitrogen through the ocean.
