View from the Huinay Scientific Field Station in the Comau fjord, Northern Patagonian fjords, Chile. Rhian Waller (Bio) and Laura Robinson (MC&G) visited the field station in February 2007 to make contacts and foster collaborations with scientists at the field station as part of a Mary Sears Award. WHOI researchers were treated to a spectacular view of 2000 meters of mountain meeting 500 m of sea water in the Comau Fjord of Northern Patagonia (Chile). Marine chemist Laura Robinson and biologist Rhian Waller visited the La Fundacion Huinay research field station to foster collaborations and studies of the nearby deep-water coral ecosystems that occur in the relatively shallow depths of the fjords.
