Having come so far to deploy their instruments, it would be foolish not to check whether they are working before leaving the ice floe. But there's no time to wait for a real mini- earthquake. So Julia Linder simulates one by jumping up and down, while Schlindwein checks that the seismometer is registering the "Julia quakes."
