Image of The Day caption:
The research vessel Knorr and the Iselin Marine Facility serve as the backdrop for the first commencement ceremonies for the MIT/WHOI Joint Program in 1970. The program's first four graduates are seated in the front row. This year's WHOI Graduate Reception is being held in Woods Hole tonight, with a hooding ceremony and commencement being held at MIT in Cambridge, Mass, on Thursday and Friday. The next graduation to be held in the village of Woods Hole will occur in 2010; the last was in 2005.
