Image Of the Day caption:
A team from the WHOI Coastal Systems Group traveled to Newfoundland, Canada, in June to gather sediment cores from bays and marshes in the area. Their work is part of a larger effort to assemble a record of sea level rise along the Northeast Coast of North America as well as changes in North Atlantic ocean circulation. The team will also combine data from the Newfoundland sites with information from the U.S. East Coast to complement existing historic and prehistoric storm records as well as develop new ones for the region.
