Image Of the Day caption:
University of Washington undergraduate student Robert Joseph Daniels helps secure a just-recovered CTD rosette aboard R/V Knorr at sunset off the coast of Greenland this summer. Daniels was a part of a cruise led by WHOI physical oceanographer Bob Pickart to measure ocean currents by taking samples and deploying fixed moorings. The cruise was part of the five-year, NSF-funded Overturning in the Subpolar North Atlantic Program (OSNAP), an international project designed to better understand how ocean circulation in the subpolor North Atlantic affects, and is affected by, global climate.
