Image Of the Day caption:
Kent Sheasley (right), captain of the research vessel Neil Armstrong, gives a tour of the ship's engine room to visiting journalists in the Knight Science Journalism Program at MIT. The program offers nine-month fellowships to an elite group of journalists to increase their understanding of science, technology, engineering, medicine, and the environment. The Knight fellows visit WHOI annually as part of a field trip to the science hub of Woods Hole, Mass. The Armstrong is currently working off the New England coast to deploy instruments for the Ocean Observatories Initiative.
