Shown are: the remotely operated vehicle (ROV) Jason, left, the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) Sentry, right, and the human occupied submersible (HOV) Alvin, center, aboard the R/V Atlantis. Developed, built, and maintained at WHOI, each vehicle is uniquely capable and serves as a research and exploration tool for the entire U.S. ocean science community.
