Caption from Oceanus magazine, Vol. 54, No. 1, pg. 18:
Sea angel (Clione limacina)
This shell-less sea snail (or pteropod) is a voracious predator that lives in the open ocean, feeding almost exclusively on other pteropods called sea butterflies, which have protective shells. The sea angel’s cones have sharp hooks that grasp prey and extract it from their shells. Sea angels, in turn, provide food for many ocean twilight zone animals.
