Captain A.D. Colburn III's final cruise departure from WHOI prior to his retirement. Cruise AT39-01.
Image Of the Day caption:
It's a tradition to have a band on the WHOI dock whenever a ship leaves for, or returns from, a notable voyage. In the past, a brass band has helped create that festive atmosphere. When R/V Atlantis left recently on what was Capt. A.D. Colburn's final trip out of Woods Hole as master of the ship, the "Tunes at Noon" bluegrass ensemble kept the tradition alive.
