Ice and sky tend to merge in the Arctic. Today visibility was low, and Stenvall only risked flying about 10 nautical miles away from the ship. He reported that ice conditions ahead were the worst they have been so far this voyage. That corresponded with our satellite image of ice conditions, which showed Oden in a "white patch," an area without much open water. We have traveled about 100 to 120 nautical miles per day since Wednesday, but we may not make as much progress today.
