Image of The Day caption:
It's a long-standing tradition for the Woods Hole Marching and Chowder Society to welcome WHOI ships and their crews back from long voyages. Welcoming Atlantis II to Woods Hole for the first time in January 1963, are Charlie Innis, Shirley Harris, Brackett Hersey and Alan Faller. WHOI's vessels span from the global-class R/V Atlantis and Knorr, to the regional-class Oceanus, to the coastal research vessel Tioga, to numerous small boats. And in 2014 a new ship, yet to be named, will tie up at Iselin Dock.
