Image of The Day caption: In the wee hours of a September 2007 morning, WHOI research associate Kathryn Rose (foreground) and research assistant Marti Jeglinski (background) worked alongside coring technician Chris Moser of Oregon State University (middle) in the wet lab on the research vessel Knorr. The trio looked for live foraminifera in the samples collected with a plankton tow in the northern Atlantic Ocean. The planktonic forams were collected for a temperature/environment experiment in Joan Bernhard's laboratory in Woods Hole.
