Mike Jakuba had lengthy experience working with another undersea robot at WHOI, the Autonomous Benthic Explorer, affectionately known as ABE, when he was a MIT/WHOI Joint Program graduate student. Recently graduated and now a postdoctoral student at Johns Hopkins University, Jakuba is lending his considerable skills to help operate Puma. He's also a good man to have around for less high-tech operations, such as pushing ice away from Hugin.
