Image Of the Day caption:
WHOI technicians John Kemp (blue hat) and Jim Ryder (red hat) work with two Coast Guard crewmen from the ice breaker Healy to deploy a "long-ranger" acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP) in October 2012. The instrument (white cylinder) is being used by WHOI oceanographer Robert Pickart to study the movement of water through the Beaufort Sea and will remain in place for the next year recording the velocity and direction of currents above it.
