Image Of the Day caption:
Oceanographer Emeritus George Hampson (right) contributed to many studies of invertebrates in marine systems, ranging from the intertidal zone to deep water. He was also one of the pioneering scientists to study the effects of oil spills on Buzzards Bay. During his 37 years at WHOI, Hampson was also fixture around Cape Cod, whether walking the shores and marshes or working on board R/V Tioga, as he was here in 2015, doing one of his favorite thingsteaching students about marine life and the life of an ocean scientist.
