WHOI researcher Cindy Sellers (right) shows undergraduate students how to analyze seawater they had just sampled aboard WHOI's research vessel Tioga in 2017. The students were part of the Summer Student Fellowship Program and the Partnership in Education Program. PEP offers research internships in the field of ocean and enironmental sciences to students in underrepresented groups. PEP students come to Woods Hole for a four-week course taught by scientists from Woods Hole scientific institutions: WHOI, NOAA Northeast Fisheries Science Center, U.S. Geological Survey, Marine Bioogical Laboratory, Woods Hole Research Center, and Sea Education Assocation. The students also conduct 10-week research projects with Woods Hole scientists.
